In the weeks leading up to the 2013 Tony telecast, Broadway.com is posting video clips of favorite Tony memories of this year’s nominees, with their own commentary. Rounding out this year's series, Carolee Carmello, a Best Actress nominee for her performance as Aimee Semple McPherson in Scandalous, recalls the amazing "Angry Dance" performed by Billy Elliot star Trent Kowalik (who went on to share a Best Actor Tony with Kiril Kulish and David Alvarez) on June 9, 2009, at Radio City Music Hall.
“I remember being blown away by the Billy Elliot sequence. I loved that show even before it came over from London to New York, and the scene they did was very moving. I love the story of an odd duck who finds his calling. All of us have that in us, that feeling of ‘Where is my place in the world?’ Here’s this boy who discovers what he loves and finds a way to do it. I found that very satisfying.”
