Murder Ballad, a sexy and dangerous new musical by Julia Jordan and Juliana Nash, opens May 22, starring Caissie Levy, Will Swenson, Rebecca Naomi Jones and John Ellison Conlee. Directed by Trip Cullman, Murder Ballad is scheduled to play a limited engagement through September 29 at off-Broadway’s Union Square Theatre.
Murder Ballad tells the story of Sara (Levy), a thirty-something New Yorker who seems to have it all—but her dangerous downtown past lingers enticingly in front of her. Sara is torn between her reliable husband Michael (Conlee) and reckless ex-boyfriend Tom (Swenson). Murder Ballad explores the complications of love, the compromises we make and the betrayals that can ultimately undo us.
The new musical features scenic design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Leon Rothenberg, choreography by Doug Varone and musical direction and orchestrations by Justin Levine.
