First Look! Douglas Hodge is Scrumptious as Willy Wonka in the West End’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Fans of the classic Roald Dahl novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (and its unforgettable film adaptations) have been eagerly awaiting their first glimpse at the brand new stage production hitting London’s West End. And here it is! In a delicious first look, check out these fantastic shots of Tony winner Douglas Hodge as Willy Wonka in the hot new musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which opens on June 25 at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Hodge’s chocolatier is a decidedly spot-on combination of Gene Wilder’s Wonka in the 1971 film and Johnny Depp’s shiny interpretation in the 2005 remake. With music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and a book by David Greig, this musical Chocolate Factory should be nothing short of delectable!
