Dan Lauria, Johnny Rabe and the rest of the original Broadway company of the Tony-nominated A Christmas Story, The Musical will all be on hand to perform together at the 67th Tony Awards on June 9 at Radio City Music Hall.
Cast members from the show—which played a limited holiday engagement at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre from November 19 through December 30, 2012—are flying in from across the world to be a part of the performance. The exact song or songs have not yet been announced, but the inclusion of the show’s breakout tap dancer Luke Spring may suggest a reprise of the showstopping number “You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out.”
A Christmas Story was fondly remembered on the day of the Tony nominations, as the show earned three nods including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical (Joseph Robinette) and Best Original Score (Benj Pasek and Justin Paul). John Rando directed the production, which starred Rabe and Lauria as Ralphie Parker, as well as John Bolton, Erin Dilly, Caroline O’Connor, Zac Ballard and Eddie Korbich.
