The Vineyard Theatre's 2013-14 season will include The Landing, starring Tony winner David Hyde Pierce, Julia Murney and Paul Anthony Stewart. Directed by Walter Bobbie, The Landing consists of three thematically-connected tales of desire, love, and loss, and features a book and lyrics by Greg Pierce and music by John Kander. Preview performances will begin in October.
The season will also include the New York premiere of the musical Arlington, by Victor Lodato and Polly Pen, which follows Sara Jane, a young wife who struggles when her husband is away at war. Performances will begin in February 2014.
The world premiere of Nicky Silver's Too Much Sun will also play at the Vineyard. Directed by Mark Brokaw, Too Much Sun tells the tale of Audrey Langham, a celebrated actress, whose life unravels while preparing for a new production of Medea. With nowhere else to go, she descends upon her married daughter for a summer by the sea, and her arrival sets off a chain of events alternately hilarious and harrowing. Preview performances will begin in May 2014.
