Audiences will have an additional week to discover the dystopian future of the new musical Venice at the Public Theater, as the show has announced a one week extension for its run. The Public Lab show was originally scheduled to close on June 23 but will now end on June 30.
Featuring a book by Eric Rosen, music by Matt Sax and lyrics by both, Venice tells the story of two brothers’ clashing efforts to restore their fallen city in a not-so-distant future where political structures have crumbled and revolution is in the air for the ghettoized citizens.
Jennifer Damiano, Leslie Odom Jr., Haaz Sleiman and Matt Sax lead the show, alongside Claybourne Elder, Uzo Aduba, Jonathan-David, Emilee Dupre, Semhar Ghebremichael, Victoria Platt, Angela Polk, Devin Roberts and Manuel Stark.
The show features choreography by Chase Brock, set design by Beowulf Boritt, costumes by Clint Ramos, lighting by Jason Lyons, projections by Jason H. Thompson, sound design by Acme Sound Partners and additional music by Curtis Moore.
