Motown The Musical writer Berry Gordy and Tony winner Diahann Carroll will each appear on new episodes of Oprah’s Master Class airing Sunday, June 16 on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Gordy’s episode will air at 9PM and will feature the legendary Motown exec, who made his Broadway writing debut this year with Motown The Musical. Gordy will talk about his famous love affair with Diana Ross (which is chronicled in Motown), as well as his historic musical discoveries and journey to the top of the charts.
Following Gordy’s episode, Carroll will appear at 10PM. The legendary star was the first African-American actress to win a Tony Award (for 1962's No Strings) and the first to star in her own sitcom, 1968’s Julia. In her episode, Carroll will discuss her life in New York, her role on Dynasty and her battle with breast cancer.
