There’s a mother on the verge of a nervous breakdown at the Claire Tow Theater, where Daniel Pearle’s A Kid Like Jake opens June 17. Directed by Evan Cabnet, this NYC-set parenting drama stars Carla Gugino, Peter Grosz, Caroline Aaron and Michelle Beck. The LCT3 production runs off-Broadway through July 14.
A Kid Like Jake centers on NYC mom Alex (Gugino) and her husband, Greg (Grosz), the parents of a precocious four-year-old son named Jake. When they begin applying to private schools, they discover that part of what makes Jake special—his passion for Cinderella and dress-up—cause concern.
