In the fifth episode of Entrances, Exits and Everything In Between, Josh Johnston gives us a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at his mother, Patti LuPone, prepping for her appearance at the 2012 Tony Awards. The two-time Tony winner popped up in the opening number, but a highlight of the show was LuPone and Mandy Patinkin presenting the award for Best Musical Revival. Josh takes his camera to rehearsal at the Beacon Theatre to capture LuPone and Patinkin’s mini-medley of tunes from the nominated musicals (Evita, Follies, Porgy and Bess and Jesus Christ Superstar), which thrilled fans who got to hear the original Eva Peron sing “Have I said too much?” for the first time in three decades! Keep watching for the backstage meet-and-greet everyone had been waiting for: LuPone and Evita revival star Elena Roger, plus a photo op with the excited cast, including Ricky Martin.
