School is in session for Jonah Platt (The Office), Payson Lewis (The Sing-Off) and Lindsay Pearce (Glee), who will lead the new Los Angeles production of Bare. Written by Damon Intrabartolo and Jon Hartmere and directed by Calvin Remsberg, Bare will begin performances September 5 at the Hayworth Theatre. Opening night is set for September 6.
In addition to Platt as Jason, Lewis as Peter and Pearce as Ivy, Bare features Katie Stevens, Nathan Parrett, Caitlin Ary, Kelsey Hainlen, Casey Hayden, Christopher Higgins, Reesa Ishiyama, Harrison Meloeny, Katherine Washington and Alissa-Nicole Koblentz.
Bare tells the story of a group of teens as they try to discover their identities, sexuality and religion at a co-ed Catholic boarding school. As their last year of high school comes to an end, Peter (Lewis), Jason (Platt) and their friends try to navigate the complicated transition from adolescence to adulthood. Bare premiered in Los Angeles in 2001, then ran off-Broadway in 2004. An off-Broadway revival starring Taylor Trensch and Jason Hite played from December 9, 2012 through February 3 at New World Stages.
After appearing on TV’s The Glee Project, Pearce played Harmony on Glee. Platt served as an executive assistant on TV’s The Office and appeared in the season finale. Lewis’ film and TV credits include Victorious, Love Bites and How I Met Your Mother. He performed with the SoCals in the TV competition series The Sing-Off. He played Georg in the Los Angeles production of Spring Awakening alongside Pearce as Wendla.
