If you’re going to take off your clothes for charity, why not do it in a room full of celebrities? Broadway Bares 23: Unites Strips of America plays at the Roseland Ballroom for two shows on June 23. Proceeds benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS .
This year’s Bares will feature special appearances by 2013 Tony Award winners Billy Porter (Kinky Boots) and Judith Light (The Assembled Parties), Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner Alan Cumming (Macbeth) and musical performers The Skivvies (Nick Cearley and Lauren Molina). The midnight performance will also welcome Bravo TV's Andy Cohen to announce the winners of this year's Strip-a-thon online fundraiser.
Broadway Bares 23: Unites Strips of America follows a bi-coastal couple (Max von Essen and Michael Cusumano) who travel through a dozen states – encountering scantily clad inhabitants along the way – in hopes of reuniting in the heartland. Additional guest stars include Charl Brown (Motown The Musical), Lesli Margherita (Matilda), Kate Rockwell (Rock of Ages), Christopher Sieber (Chicago) and Eric LaJuan Summers (Motown The Musical). Evita alum Nick Kenkel directs.
