For her Broadway debut, Yvonne Strahovski took on the complex and tragic role of Lorna Moon “the tramp from Newark” in last season’s Tony-nominated revival of Clifford Odets’ Golden Boy. In a recent interview with Esquire, the blonde bombshell, known to TV audiences for her roles in Dexter and Chuck, talked about her experience on stage.
“I found it immensely challenging,” she said of appearing on the Great White Way. “It was very much a shock to the system. It was a hard, challenging role with a lot of layers, but we were led by an extraordinary director, Bartlett Sher, who just turned the production into a piece of gold.”
When asked if Strahovski had any plans to return to the stage, she replied, “Eventually maybe more Broadway. That would be pretty awesome.”
Here’s to hoping “eventually” means sooner rather than later. Maybe she can even reunite with her Chuck co-star Zachary Levi, who makes his Broadway debut this summer in First Date.
