The full cast has been announced for the West End return engagement of Dirty Dancing, which will begin performances on July 13 at the Piccadilly Theatre.
Previously announced leads Jill Winternitz, Paul-Michael Jones and Charlotte Gooch will reprise their current touring roles as Baby Houseman, Johnny Castle and Penny Johnson, respectively. Joining the trio will be Colin Charles as Tito Suarez, James Coombes as Dr. Jake Houseman, Mark Faith as Mr. Schumacher, Stefan Menaul as Neil Kellerman, Julia J. Nagle as Marjorie Houseman, Michael Remick as Max Kellerman, Wayne Smith as Billy Kostecki and Emilia Williams as Lisa Houseman.
The ensemble of Dirty Dancing’s London company will include Jonathan Cordin, Gemma Fuller, Rebecca Hodge, Faisal Khodabukus, Callum Nicol, Rosa O’Reilly, Adam Philpott, Kate-Emma Portlock, Stephanie Powell, Joseph Prouse, Aaron Richardson, Claire Rogers, Russell Smith, Lizzie Stavrou, Will Tyler and Tara Verloop.
Written by Eleanor Bergstein (screenwriter of the hit 1987 film) and directed by Sarah Tipple, the show tells the story of a teenage girl’s relationship with a dance instructor whom she meets while on vacation with her family one fateful summer. The stage adaptation of Dirty Dancing features a slew of pop music hits including “Hungry Eyes,” “Hey Baby” and the Academy Award-winning song “I’ve Had The Time of My Life.”
