Idina Menzel, Taye Diggs and More Broadway Stars to Sing Karaoke for Charity; Whoopi Goldberg Hosts

Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs will lead a night of celebrity karaoke—with songs chosen by audience members—during a special fundraising event benefiting the duo’s charity A Broader Way. Whoopi Goldberg will host the evening on July 22 at the Cutting Room.

Menzel and Diggs will be joined by a handful of Broadway friends including Jenn Colella, LaChanze, Anthony Rapp, Megan Hilty, Matthew Morrison, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Tom Kitt, Adam Pascal, Adrienne Warren and more. While audience members will pick the songs that the stars will sing, a select few will also get the chance to sing in the spotlight themselves.

A Broader Way Foundation was created in 2010 by Menzel and Diggs as a way to offer arts-centered programs to young girls from underserved communities. Camp BroaderWay, the foundation’s first endeavor, will celebrate its third season in August 2013.
