The blood will keep on spilling for another season! Showtime has ordered a second season of the new drama Ray Donovan, starring Tony winner Liev Schreiber. The second season will premiere in 2014.
The show premiered on June 30, 2013 and delivered the best debut of any Showtime series. Over 6 million viewers watched the pilot episode across media platforms, and Donovan became the first freshman drama in the network’s history to gain viewers in its second week.
Emmy nominee Schreiber stars in his first leading TV role as the titular Ray Donovan, a professional "fixer" in Los Angeles who is called in to avert crises for the city’s celebrities, athletes and business moguls. Jon Voight plays his father, a recent prison parolee, alongside a cast that includes Elliott Gould, Paula Malcomson, Eddie Marsan and Dash Mihok.
Schreiber is, of course, well known to the theater community for his unforgettable roles on the Broadway stage in A View From the Bridge (2010 Tony nomination), Talk Radio (2007 Tony nomination), Glengarry Glen Ross (2005 Tony Award) and Betrayal.
