While Zachary Levi geeks out at Comic-Con this week, there’s a new romance blooming for Krysta Rodriguez on the stage in Broadway’s raucous musical comedy First Date. Eric Ankrim, who starred in the show’s premiere run in Seattle in 2012, stepped into the leading role of Aaron on July 16, and he’ll test the romantic waters opposite Rodriguez all week long. (Avid fans already know that, though, after Ankrim’s rap video announcing the news went viral.) After his first performance—which was also his Broadway debut—Broadway.com photographer Bruce Glikas bumped into Ankrim and Rodriguez on the street and snapped a happy photo. Check out this awesome Hot Shot of the new duo, who will feel the love through July 23. After that, Levi is back in the game, so you’ll have to make sure to come back for a second helping of this First Date!
