It’s opening night for Paul Manuel Kane’s comedy Dancing on Nails. Directed by Allen Lewis Rickman, the play stars Boardwalk Empire’s Peter Van Wagner and Jazmyn Richardson as a pair of mismatched friends. Dancing on Nails officially opens July 24 and continues off-Broadway at Theatre 80 through August 29.
He’s Jewish and she’s black. He’s 52 and she’s 23. And it’s 1953. Dancing on Nails explores the challenging relationship between a lonely middle-aged shopkeeper (Van Wagner) and his young African-American employee (Richardson) in 1950s Greenwich Village.
In addition to Van Wagner and Richardson, the show co-stars Lori Wilner, Lauren Klein and Michael Lewis.
Dancing on Nails features set design by Vicki R. Davis, costume design by Gail Cooper-Hecht and lighting design by Michael Gottlieb.
