Stop everything! Tickets are now on sale for the world premiere of Regina Taylor’s stop. reset. at the Signature Theatre Company. Starring Carl Lumbly and LaTanya Richardson Jackson, stop. reset. will begin performances August 20 at off-Broadway's Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre in the Pershing Square Signature Center, with opening night set for September 8. Directed by Taylor, the play is slated to run through September 29.
The play tells the story of Alex Ames (Lumbly), the owner of Chicago’s oldest African-American book publishing company. As e-books begin to outsell printed copies, Ames must question his employees to determine who is still relevant in a rapidly changing world. When Alex meets J (Cordova), a mysterious youth plugged into the future, Ames is forced to discover how far he will go to survive in a world where the real and the virtual are more closely tied than we think. In addition to Jackson and Lumbly, stop. reset. stars Michi Barall, Teagle Bougere, Ismael Cruz Cordova and Donald Sage Mackay.
The stop. reset. creative team includes scenic designer Neil Patel, costume designer Karen Perry, lighting designer Lap Chi Chu, sound designer Robert Kaplowitz, projection designer Shawn Sagady, hair and makeup designer Valerie Gladstone, fight director Rick Sordelet and vocal and dialect coach Stephen Gabis.
