In her first tweet since the July 13 death of her boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith, Lea Michele posted a sweet snapshot and a personal message to her fans: “Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart.”
Michele has a whopping 3,529,966 followers on Twitter, and her daily messages usually center on her activities, photo shoots, Glee updates and other upbeat topics. (Favorite morning tweet: “Rise and shine!”) The Spring Awakening vet has refrained from tweeting in the two weeks since Monteith passed away at a Vancouver hotel following an overdose involving alcohol and heroin.
As previously reported, Glee will return on September 26 for three episodes before going on a lengthy hiatus.
