Broadway hunk Cheyenne Jackson has split from Monte Lapka, his husband of nearly two years and partner of over a decade. The pair wed in September 2011 in an intimate beach ceremony in the Hamptons.
The duo released a statement regarding the separation: “Cheyenne Jackson and his husband Monte Lapka have mutually decided to divorce. The couple have been together for 13 years, and were married in NY State two years ago. It is an amicable parting and understandably, a private matter.”
Jackson’s many Broadway credits include The Performers, Finian’s Rainbow, Xanadu, All Shook Up, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Aida. In recent years, his star has been on the rise on screen thanks to roles in Behind the Candelabra, 30 Rock and Glee. He’ll next appear as a dance instructor in Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, followed by Beautiful Now, Lucky Stiff and Love Is Strange. He is a member of the 2013-14 Tony Awards nominating committee.
