Musical Comedy First Date, Starring Zachary Levi and Krysta Rodriguez, Opens on Broadway

Finally, a First Date that will have you in fits of laughter instead of nerves. The musical romantic comedy opens at the Longacre Theatre on August 8. Directed by Bill Berry, the hilarious new show stars Smash diva Krysta Rodriguez and Chuck star Zachary Levi.

The hilariously accurate musical follows self-proclaimed serial dater Casey and "blind date virgin" Aaron (Levi) on a first date. As the evening unfolds in real time, the two experience everything from humorous first impressions, bail-out calls, awkward pauses and imaginary (and unwelcome!) visits from Casey's sister, Aaron's ex-girlfriend and the pair's potential future son.

The 90-minute musical features music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner and a book by Austin Winsberg, as well as costumes by David C. Woolard, set design by David Gallo and choreography by Josh Rhodes.
