How to Be a New Yorker, an off-Broadway comedy about life in the Big Apple, is packing its bags and moving to the newly renovated Planet Hollywood in Times Square. The show will continue playing at Sofia’s Downstairs Theater through August 17. After a short hiatus, the production will begin performances at the Screening Room Theater in Planet Hollywood on September 20.
Written and performed by Margaret Copeland and Kevin James Doyle, How to Be a New Yorker teaches audience members everything they ever needed to know about what it takes to be a bona fide citizen of the Big Apple, from the instinct for disdainful glances to the peevish muttering and innate rudeness that distinguish true New Yorkers. Directed by Robert Ross Parker, How to Be a New Yorker began performances August 22, 2012, at Sofia’s Downstairs Theater.
The How to Be a New Yorker creative team includes set designer Nick Francone and costume designer Janell Clingenpeel.
