Motown The Musical's N’Kenge will perform a new solo concert at Birdland’s Jazz Party, featuring disco songs and jazz standards and Adele hits. Featuring Tony nominee Orfeh as a special guest artist, N’Kenge’s solo show will be performed on August 18 at Birdland in New York City.
N’Kenge made her Broadway debut as an understudy in Sondheim on Sondheim and appeared in the West End production of The Genius of Ray Charles. Her film and TV credits include Boston Public, Ophelia and American Tragedy. Off-Broadway, she has appeared in Tut and Broadway Diva Christmas. She currently plays Mary Wells in Motown on Broadway.
Orfeh garnered a Tony nomination for Legally Blonde. Her other Broadway credits include Saturday Night Fever, The Gershwins’ Fascinating Rhythm and Footloose. Off-Broadway, she has appeared in Love, Loss, and What I Wore, The Great American Trailer Park Musical and Love, Janis. Her film and TV credits include Across the Universe, Sleeping with the Fishes, Chapelle’s Show and the forthcoming film Life of an Actress.
