The Book of Mormon alum Josh Gad was sporting a slim new look on the red carpet of his new movie Jobs on August 13—the Tony nominee has lost more than 30 pounds! Gad told People that he enlisted a nutritionist to help him cut down “from about 18 meals a day to about five.” Although Gad admitted he is losing weight for an upcoming role, he hasn’t revealed which project his new look is for.
The star’s meal plan consists of seven egg whites with avocado and grapefruit for breakfast, almonds and a protein shake as a snack, a salad with turkey for lunch and salmon and vegetables for dinner. “It’s amazing what it’s done to my love life,” Gad joked about his makeover. “My wife actually loves me again!”
Gad garnered a Tony nomination for playing Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon. He departed the production in 2012 to co-create and star in the short-lived NBC sitcom 1600 Penn. Gad plays Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in the new biopic Jobs, which hits theaters August 16. He is gearing up to play late comedian Sam Kinison in a forthcoming film, and will provide the voice for Olaf, a silly snowman, in the animated film Frozen.
