Two-time Tony winner and four-time Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner Patti LuPone is bringing an expanded, two-act version of her acclaimed 54 Below show Far Away Places to New York’s Carnegie Hall on November 7, according to her website.
Far Away Places features a five-piece band and a set list including contemporary songs, Broadway tunes and popular cabaret songs from the '30s and '40s. LuPone opened the Times Square supper club 54 Below with a one-act concert version in June 2012. The show was brought back for multiple encore engagements and then recorded live and released by Broadway Records.
In addition to the Carnegie Hall engagement, LuPone is launching an extended concert tour that includes Far Away Places, Acts 1 & 2, Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda…Played That Part, Gypsy in My Soul and An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin.
A Best Actress Tony winner for Evita and Gypsy, LuPone has received additional Tony nominations for The Robber Bridegroom, Anything Goes, Sweeney Todd and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Her most recent Broadway appearance was in David Mamet’s The Anarchist. This fall, LuPone will co-star on the FX series American Horror Story: Coven.
