Sherlock Holmes must be a musical theater fan—how else to explain the latest Broadway guest star on the Holmes-centric CBS drama Elementary?! Once Tony winner and Broadway.com's 2012 Star of the Year Steve Kazee has booked a guest star arc on the sophomore season of the detective drama, which will also feature fellow Broadway alums Jeremy Jordan and Laura Osnes this year.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Kazee will play a man who meets Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) when she enters the wild world of online matchmaking. It turns out that Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) doesn’t approve of the idea of Internet dating and may even ruin the relationship before it gets off the ground. Kazee will appear on the episode “We Are Everyone” in October.
Kazee won the 2012 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his role as the guitar-toting Guy in the original Broadway cast of Once. The former Broadway.com video blogger departed the show in February 2013 and has since remained active with his band The Shiny Liars with several shows at 54 Below. Kazee’s screen credits include Working Class, Numb3rs, CSI, Medium and NCIS.
