It’s the due date for Ethan Coen’s pregnancy comedy Women or Nothing. The first full-length play from the Oscar winner officially opens off-Broadway at the Atlantic Theater Company on September 16 and will continue through October 13.
Directed by David Cromer, the world premiere production stars Susan Pourfar, Robert Beitzel, Deborah Rush and Halley Feiffer.
Women or Nothing is about two women (Pourfar and Feiffer) so desperate to have a child that one of them will even sleep with a man (Beitzel). Who the man is, what he thinks is going on, what the women think about what he thinks, and what the mother (Rush) of one of the women reveals about her own colorful past—it all defies belief. Why then does it all make sense?
Women or Nothing features scenic design by Michele Spadaro, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Bradley King and original music and sound design by Daniel Kluger.
