Feel the adrenaline at the Lyceum Theatre when A Night with Janis Joplin, starring Mary Bridget Davies as the iconic rock star, begins previews on September 20. Opening night is set for October 10.
Davies is joined by Tony nominee De’Adre Aziza, NaTasha Yvette Williams, Nikki Kimbrough and Taprena Michelle Augustine, who will appear as Joplin’s back-up singers “The Joplinaires” and the iconic female performers who influenced Joplin’s music. The cast also includes Kacee Clanton, Allison Blackwell and Alison Cusano.
Written and directed by Randy Johnson, A Night with Janis Joplin takes audiences on a musical journey with Joplin, whose unforgettable voice made her a must-see headliner all across the country when she exploded onto the music scene in 1967. Before taking on the Great White Way, A Night with Janis Joplin played engagements in Portland, Cleveland, Washington, D.C., Pasadena and Milwaukee.
The show features choreography by Patricia Wilcox (Motown the Musical), set and lighting by Justin Townsend, costumes by Amy Clark and sound design by Carl Casella.
