Broadway is moving to Bucks County! Two-time Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner Nick Adams and Jeremy Kushnier are joining the cast of the upcoming Bucks County Playhouse production of The Rocky Horror Show, directed by Tony nominee Hunter Foster. The production will run from October 23 through November 2 at the Pennsylvania theater. No replacement has been announced for Will Swenson, who was originally cast as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, but dropped out to star in the forthcoming off-Broadway musical Little Miss Sunshine.
Adams, who will play hunky creation Rocky, is best known to Broadway audiences as Felicia in the 2011 production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. His additional Broadway credits include La Cage Aux Folles, Guys and Dolls, The Pirate Queen, A Chorus Line and Chicago. Kushnier, who will take on the role of creepy righthand man Riff Raff, most recently appeared in Jersey Boys. His additional Broadway credits include Footloose, Rent and Jesus Christ Superstar.
The new production will also now feature Steve Rosen (Spamalot) as Dr. Scott, Eddie and the Narrator, and Alyssa DiPalma (American Idiot national tour) as housekeeper Magenta. Rocky Horror will star previously announced cast members Lauren Molina as Janet, Nick Cearley as Brad and Jennifer Cody as Columbia. A chorus of Phantoms have been selected from local Bucks County schools, including Sarah DeNight, Brian Graziani, Alex Kryger and Erica Nicole Rothman.
The cult favorite, featuring music, lyrics and a book by Richard O’Brien, tells the story of Brad and Janet, a newly engaged couple who seek refuge at the home of a mad scientist during a violent storm. While spending the night in the mysterious castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Brad and Janet encounter a slew of eccentric personalities and of course, the doctor’s newest creation.
