Tickets are now available for Merle Good’s new off-Broadway play The Preacher and the Shrink, which will begin performances on November 2 at the Beckett Theatre on Theatre Row. Starring three-time Tony nominee Dee Hoty, the show will open on November 18 for a limited run that ends on January 4, 2014.
Directed by Steven Yuhasz, The Preacher and the Shrink follows a spirited young woman who makes a sexual accusation that affects her estranged father, a well-respected pastor. Hoty (Footloose, The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public) plays a psychiatrist who complicates things when romance develops. The cast also includes Tom Galantich, Richard Thieriot, Nicholas Urda and Adria Vitlar.
The Preacher and the Shrink features set design by Brian Prather, lighting design by Kirk Bookman, costume design by Carol Sherry and sound design by Patrick Weaver.
