You Gotta Be Loud! Matilda Star Lesli Margherita Is Broadway.com’s Bodacious New Video Blogger

"You've gotta give yourself a mission to shine to stand out from the crowd!" Matilda scene-stealer Lesli Margherita will give audiences a little more bum-ba-bum-bum ba-da-bum by taking them behind the scenes at the Shubert Theatre every week with her new Broadway.com video series, Looks Not Books. As the boisterous, booming and bawdy Mrs. Wormwood, Margherita knows everyone loves a little something exotic!

Looks Not Books: Backstage at Matilda with Lesli Margherita will premiere on Broadway.com on October 7, with new episodes every Monday.

Margherita earned an Olivier Award for her performance as Inez in Zorro on London's West End before making her Broadway debut in Matilda. Her other stage credits include Kiss Me, Kate, Show Boat, Man of La Mancha, Little Shop of Horrors, Spamalot, Grease, Aida and West Side Story.

Matilda tells the story of an extraordinary little girl who dreams of a better life. Armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, Matilda Wormwood dares to take a stand and change her destiny. Based on the beloved Roald Dahl novel of the same name, the musical features a book by Tony winner Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Tony nominee Tim Minchin.

In addition to Margherita, the cast of Matilda features Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro in the title role, Craig Bierko as Miss Trunchbull, Jill Paice as Miss Honey, Tony winner Gabriel Ebert as Mr. Wormwood and Karen Aldridge as Mrs. Phelps.
