These days you might find yourself asking “Who still watches Nurse Jackie?” and “When will TV snatch up the goldmine of talent that is Go On’s Julie White?” The answer to both lies in the news that yes, people are still watching Nurse Jackie, and yes, Tony winner White has in fact found her next TV gig on season six of the Showtime dramedy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, White has landed a major recurring role on Nurse Jackie’s upcoming sixth season, playing Antoinette, a realtor who becomes the AA sponsor to Edie Falco’s reckless Jackie. The show returns to the airwaves in 2014.
White recently made herself familiar to television audiences for her breakout role on the Matthew Perry-Laura Benanti sitcom Go On, which was tragically cancelled after one season. She’s a certified stage vet, though, with a Tony win for her performance in The Little Dog Laughed, and she recently took over for Sigourney Weaver in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Oh, and she was also in all those little Transformers movies you might have heard of.
