There’s a scandal brewing at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre! Domesticated, the newest offering by Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park), begins off-Broadway performances October 10. Directed by Tony winner Anna D. Shapiro, the Lincoln Center Theater production stars Jeff Goldblum, Laurie Metcalf and Robin De Jesus. Domesticated will open officially on November 4.
Domesticated tells the story of Judy and Bill Pulver, a married couple whose life is thrown into the public eye due to a scandal. The darkly funny new play addresses the issues of gender, power, sexuality and politics as a private relationship is subjected to public humiliation.
In addition to Metcalf, Goldblum and De Jesus, Domesticated features Tony nominee Mary Beth Peil, Vanessa Aspillaga, Mia Barron, Lizbeth Mackay, Emily Meade, Karen Pittman, Aleque Reid and Misha Seo.
The Domesticated creative team includes set designer Todd Rosenthal, costume designer Jennifer von Mayrhauser, lighting designer James F. Ingalls and sound designer John Gromada.
