As we previously reported, Big Fish composer Andrew Lippa is heading to London, and it's just been announced that he’s bringing three very special guests with him! Wicked favorite Willemijn Verkaik, Tony nominee Jenna Russell and Les Miserables star Carrie Hope Fletcher will take the stage on November 17 at the St. James Theatre for a special one-night-only concert. The trio of talented ladies will sing music from Lippa’s catalogue of work.
In the new concert, Lippa will take the audience through his life and career as a writer and composer, featuring songs from his hit shows Big Fish, The Wild Party, John and Jen and The Addams Family. He will also introduce some of his lesser-known songs and “lost” material.
After playing Elphaba over 1,000 times, Verkaik is the only actress to have performed the role in three different languages. She made her Broadway debut in Wicked in 2013. Her additional European credits include Mamma Mia!, We Will Rock You, Aida and Elisabeth.
Russell played Dot/Marie in Sunday in the Park With George both in the West End and on Broadway, earning a Tony nomination and an Olivier Award for her performance. Her additional British credits include Guys and Dolls, Into the Woods, The Winters Tale, As You Like It, Amy’s View, Season’s Greeting and Wildest Dreams.
Fletcher is currently making her West End debut as Eponine in Les Miserables. Her additional British stage credits include Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
