Broadway is teaming up to pay tribute to Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark performer Daniel Curry, who was injured in an August performance of the hit musical. Spider-Man stars Robert Cuccioli and Christina DeCicco will host A Web of Love, a benefit and auction for the actor on October 21 at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. All ticket sales and auction revenue, as well as a portion of the evening’s bar receipts, will be donated to Curry.
In addition to Cuccioli and DeCicco, the performance will feature Spider-Man stars Justin Matthew Sargent, Rebecca Faulkenberry and Jessica McRoberts along with Kinky Boots’ Kyle Post. Items available for auction will include tickets to Pippin and a backstage tour with headliner Matthew James Thomas, tickets to Kinky Boots and a backstage tour with angels Joey Taranto and Kyle Post, lunch for two at Gotham Bar and Grill, a membership to Mark Fisher Fitness and more. Advanced tickets can be purchased here.
Curry sustained a foot injury during the August 15 performance of Spider-Man when a piece of equipment suddenly pinned down his leg. He is still recovering from the accident.
