We already know they're going to absolutely kill it! Audiences members are going to slayed by their vocals! You'd have to be buried six feet under to miss this! OK, I'll stop. Here's the scoop: Murder Ballad stars Caissie Levy and Rebecca Naomi Jones, along with the rock musical's composer/lyricist Juliana Nash, will reunite at 54 Below for a killer concert on December 9. (Sorry, I couldn't resist one more!)
The talented trio, backed up by the original on-stage Murder Ballad band, will head to Times Square's favorite speakeasy to perform some of the hard-edged tuner's signature songs, including "NY," "Mouth Tattoo" and "Turning Into Beautiful." Levy, Jones and Nash (what a great band name, btw) will also tackle some original songs by the accomplished singer-songwriter.
Murder Ballad, directed by Trip Cullman and featuring book and lyrics by Julia Jordan, opened at off-Broadway's Union Square Theatre on May 22 and closed on July 21. The musical, which also co-starred Will Swenson and John Ellison Conlee, previously played a sold-out engagement at Manhattan Theatre Club's Stage II before transferring. The Murder Ballad cast album was released on May 28 by Yellow Sound Label.
