Order, Order! John Grisham’s A Time to Kill Opens on Broadway, Starring Sebastian Arcelus

Court is now officially in session! The new stage adaptation of John Grisham’s bestselling novel A Time to Kill opens October 20 at the Golden Theatre. Directed by Ethan McSweeny, the new drama adapted by Rupert Holmes features Sebastian Arcelus and Patrick Page as two lawyers who go head-to-head to fight for justice and John Douglas Thompson as a man who takes the law into his own hands.

A Time To Kill features Arcelus as Jake Brigance, Page as Rufus Buckley, Douglas Thompson as Carl Lee Hailey, Fred Dalton Thompson as Judge Noose, Ashley Williams as Ellen Roark, Tony winner Tonya Pinkins as Gwen Hailey, Emmy winner Tom Skerritt as Lucien Wilbanks, Chike Johnson as Ozzie Walls, Jeffrey M. Bender as Deputy Looney, Dashiell Eaves as Pete Willard, John Procaccino as Drew Tyndale, Tijuana Ricks as Court Reporter and Lee Sellars as Billy Ray Cobb.

Set in Ford County, Mississippi, A Time to Kill tells the story of idealistic lawyer Jake Brigance (Arcelus), who agrees to represent Carl Lee Hailey, a father who is put on trial for murdering the two men who commit an unspeakable crime against his daughter. As Brigance delves deeper into the court case, he becomes embroiled in a heated debate that shakes the entire town and puts his family in danger.
