Halloween is the most theatrical holiday, so it makes perfect sense that Broadway actors—who understand the value of rocking a costume—would embrace the spooky season. We asked your favorite stage stars to share memories of yummy treats, silly tricks and the best and worst costumes they ever wore—with a photo! Happy Halloween!
BRYAN TERRELL CLARK (Marvin Gaye in Motown The Musical)
What was your favorite Halloween costume of all time, and how old were you when you wore it?
My favorite was a really sexy Native American costume—a flap and some feathers, some paint here and there. Last year’s hurricane made sure no one saw it but me. Still my favorite! Maybe I'll wear it this year.
What’s the most embarrassing Halloween costume you ever wore?
I wore a Onesie and was a big baby. I didn't know there was a booty flap in the back of the Onesie, and it kept falling down.
What’s your favorite Halloween candy, and why?
Reese’s Pieces. Because ET agrees!
What’s the worst “treat” you were ever given on Halloween?
A religious pamphlet with scriptures on it.
Have you ever dressed up as a Broadway character? If so, which one?
Peter Pan
What is your favorite Halloween horror movie, and why?
I love all of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Freddy Krueger was the man! And super funny!
What is the hottest Broadway-themed costume for 2013?
I think the costumes in The Lion King are pretty hot.
What do you love most about Halloween?
I love haunted houses!
