The New York Yankees may have missed the playoffs this year, but they’re headed to Broadway in Bronx Bombers. The third in Eric Simonson’s sports trilogy (after Lombardi and Magic/Bird), the play follows Yogi Berra and his wife, Carmen, through a century of the team’s trials and triumphs. On October 23, Berra kicked of the World Series (featuring the Yankees’ hated rival, the Boston Red Sox, no less!) with a viewing party at the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center in Montclair, NJ. On hand to enjoy the evening were the real-life married couple who will play the Berras on Broadway, Peter Scolari and Tracy Shayne, and Broadway.com headed to the ‘burbs to catch this historic meet-and-greet. Enjoy our Hot Shot, then make plans to see Bronx Bombers beginning January 10, 2014, at Circle in the Square Theatre.
