Tony winner David Henry Hwang, whose new play Kung Fu will have its world premiere at Signature Theatre in February 2014, Annie Baker (The Flick, Circle Mirror Transformation) and Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo) were honored at the 2013 Steinberg Playwright Awards on November 18 at Lincoln Center Theater. The awards, which were established in 2008 by the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust to recognize playwrights at various stages of their careers, were presented to Baker and Joseph, who will receive $50,000 each. Hwang, who won last year’s Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award, was also recognized for his distinguised work at the gala. Check out our Hot Shot (by Craig Barritt) of the evening's big winners.
