The forthcoming Broadway musical The Bridges of Madison County, starring four-time Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara and Steven Pasquale, has moved its opening night forward by one week. Directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, the romantic tuner, which will begin previews on January 17, 2014 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, will now open on February 20 rather than February 27.
Based on the acclaimed novel by Robert James Waller, The Bridges of Madison County features music and lyrics by Tony winner Jason Robert Brown and a book by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman. The musical tells the story of a devoted Iowa housewife named Francesca Johnson (O'Hara) and her unlikely love affair with Robert Kincaid (Pasquale), a National Geographic photographer.
The creative team for The Bridges of Madison County includes scenic design by Michael Yeargan, costume design by Catherine Zuber, lighting design by Donald Holder and sound design by Jon Weston.
