Tony nominees Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron’s new musical Fun Home is the hottest property on the market! The acclaimed production, which was previously extended to run through December 29, will now play through January 12, 2014 at off-Broadway’s Public Theater. Directed by Sam Gold, the production stars Tony winner Michael Cerveris and Tony nominee Judy Kuhn. Fun Home opened at the Public's Newman Theater on October 22.
Based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, Fun Home charts a girl’s quest to come to terms with her father’s unexpected death. As she moves between past and present, Alison dives into the story of her volatile, brilliant father and relives her unique childhood at her family’s funeral home. In addition to Cerveris and Kuhn, the cast also includes Emily Skeggs, Griffin Birney, Roberta Colindrez, Noah Hinsdale, Sydney Lucas, Beth Malone and Joel Perez.
The creative team for Fun Home includes scenic and costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Kai Harada, projection design by Jim Findlay and Jeff Sugg, wig design by Paul Huntley, music direction by Chris Fenwick and choreography by Danny Mefford.
