Film actor, writer, producer, director and Rocky the musical co-book writer Sylvester Stallone is adding a new credit to his resume: London theater star! He’ll be taking the stage at Central Hall Westminster for one night only to share stories about his career and answer fan questions in An Evening with Sylvester Stallone on January 11, 2014. We’ve got our fingers crossed that Sly will spill the beans about working with Thomas Meehan, Andy Karl, Margo Sieibert and more as Rocky prepares to open on Broadway March 13!
“When people meet me they’re often surprised,” Stallone told The London Evening Standard. “I talk a great deal. I consider myself something of a raconteur. I have a rather audacious sense of humor. I’ve had such a long career and so many ups and downs. I have a big mix of wonderful stories and colorful anecdotes."
Stallone is teaming up with Emmy and Tony-winning writer Thomas Meehan to pen the book for Rocky on Broadway. For his Oscar-winning 1976 film Rocky, Stallone was nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor. In addition to the Rocky movies, his film credits include the Rambo movies, The Expendables, Cliffhanger, Escape Plan, Bullet to the Head, Get Carter, Cop Land, Assassins, Judge Dredd, Cobra and many more.
