The new musical 20th Century Boy, inspired by glam rock legend Marc Bolan and his band T.Rex, is set for a British tour next year prior to a West End run. Directed and choreographed by Gary Lloyd (Thriller Live), the production has music and lyrics by Bolan and a book by Peter Rowe and Lloyd. The show will tour throughout the U.K. starting April 18, 2014 before heading to London. Full casting will be announced in due course.
Bolan was one of the U.K.'s most well-known rock stars before his death in 1977 at the age of 29. The “king of glam” and “godfather of punk” released a string of number one hits to an army of devoted fans. 20th Century Boy takes the audience on a ride through the icon’s mesmerizing life and will include hit songs such as “Ride A White Swan,” “I Love To Boogie” and “Get It On.”
20th Century Boy is based on an idea by Brian Dunham, Colin Griffin and Nicky Graham. The creative team includes design by Diego Pitarch, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Chris Whybrow, musical supervision and arrangement by John Maher and video design by Will Duke.
