If you only watch one YouTube video today, this is definitely it! Lea Salonga, who won a Tony Award for her portrayal of Kim in the original Broadway cast of Miss Saigon over 20 years ago, has a few words of wisdom to pass along to actress Rachelle Ann Go, who recently scored the role of Gigi in the new West End revival of the beloved Boublil and Schonberg musical. Salonga, who was reportedly the first person to congratulate Go on her new role, invited the newly minted star to join her onstage during her solo concert at the Philippine International Convention Center. “They’re not gonna remember you in your bikini—the moment you open your mouth is what they’re going to remember,” Salonga told Go, who was nervous about stepping onstage in the show's skimpy costumes. “Besides," Salonga joked, "Your body is rocking. It’s sick. It makes me angry, looking at you.” Click below to hear them sing an absolutely gorgeous rendition of “The Movie in My Mind” together, then catch Miss Saigon, opening May 3, 2014 at the Prince Edward Theatre!
