Oscar winner Marlee Matlin will be making an appearance (as herself) on an upcoming episode of Fox's Glee. Matlin will be judging Glee’s New Directions in the National Glee Club competition this winter. Additional judges for the competition have not yet been announced, but don't panic—you'll know who they are before the show returns with new episodes on February 25.
The announcement for Matlin’s appearance comes soon after Skylar Astin was confirmed as a new cast member via Darren Criss’ twitter. Matlin also leaked word of her news via a tweet, with a picture of herself, Astin, Criss and Glee’s Chord Overstreet getting chummy.
Matlin joins a list of other celebs who have played themselves on the National Glee club judging panel, including Kathy Griffin, Perez Hilton and Lindsay Lohan in previous episodes.
Matlin received a Golden Globe and an Academy award for her performance in Children of a Lesser God. Her notable TV credits include The West Wing, The L Word as well as her current role on ABC Family’s Switched at Birth. The actress has been nominated for four Emmy awards for her guest appearances on Seinfeld, Picket Fences, The Practice and Law and Order: SVU.
