The new musical Beautiful follows singer-songwriter Carole King, played by Tony nominee Jessie Mueller, from the days she was a Brooklyn teen (named Carol Klein) looking for a break in the record business to her years as a pop songwriter to her chart-topping solo career. Broadway.com resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson headed to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre to capture the cast of this rocking new musical, including Mueller at a piano, Jake Epstein as King's husband and writing partner Gerry Goffin and (clockwise, from top left) Anika Larsen as Cynthia Weil, Jarrod Spector as Barry Mann, Liz Larsen as Genie Klein and Jeb Brown as Don Kirshner. About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
