The musical comedy A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, starring Jefferson Mays and Bryce Pinkham, is killing it on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre and is now set to be immortalized in a cast album. The recording will take place on January 13 and Ghostlight Records will release the album later this season.
Directed by Darko Tresnjak, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder features a book and music by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak. The production follows Monty Navarro (Pinkham), a long-lost member of a noble family who stands to become the next Earl of Highhurst—if he can eliminate the eight other relatives (all played by Mays) who precede him in line for the title.
In addition to Mays and Pinkham, A Gentleman’s Guide features Lisa O’Hare, Lauren Worsham, Jane Carr, Pamela Bob, Joanna Glushak, Eddie Korbich, Jeff Kready, Mark Ledbetter, Jennifer Smith, Price Waldman and Catherine Walker.
The A Gentleman’s Guide cast album will feature tracks including: “A Warning to the Audience”, “You’re a D’Ysquith”, “Foolish to Think”, “I Don’t Understand the Poor”, “Poison in My Pocket” and “That Horrible Woman”.
