Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first?
Here's the bad news: Now that she's landed the juicy role of Helen Sinclair in Bullets Over Broadway, Marin Mazzie has had to drop out of the New York Pops' On Broadway concert at Carnegie Hall, taking hubby Jason Danieley with her! But here's the good news: Fave favorites Stephanie J. Block and Andrew Rannells are stepping in for the March 21 concert at Carnegie Hall.
Directed by Pops musical director Steven Reineke, On Broadway is an evening celebrating unforgettable hits of Broadway past and present. The show is part of the New York Pops’ 2013/2014 series, which most recently featured former Mary Poppins star Ashley Brown in a solo holiday concert.
Rannells is best known for his Tony-nominated performance as Elder Price in Broadway’s smash hit musical The Book of Mormon. He has also been seen on Broadway in Jersey Boys and Hairspray and on TV in Girls and The New Normal. Tony nominee Block most recently starred as Sheryl Hoover in off-Broadway’s Little Miss Sunshine. Broadway credits include Elphaba in Wicked, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Anything Goes, 9 to 5: The Musical, The Pirate Queen and The Boy From Oz.
