Tumble for this! Taboo has found its leading men. Joining previously announced members of the original cast for a reunion will be Broadway vet Jeremy Kushnier as Phillip Sallon, along with Matthew Rowland as George and Samuel Buttery as Leigh Bowery. Rowland and Buttery are reprising their roles from the 2012 London revival of Taboo at the Brixton Clubhouse. The concerts will take place on February 8 and 9 with performances at 8PM and 11PM at 54 Below.
The performance will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and falls 10 years to the day that the Boy George bio-musical closed on Broadway after a too short, three-month run. Rowland, Buttery and Kushnier take on the roles originated on Broadway by Boy George (as Leigh Bowery), Euan Morton (as George) and Raul Esparza (as Philip Sallon).
In addition to Rowland, Buttery and Kushnier the performances will star Sarah Uriarte Berry (Nicola), Jeffrey Carlson (Marilyn), Liz McCartney (Big Sue) and Cary Shields (Marcus). Original ensemble members returning are Jennifer Cody, Lisa Gajda, Bob Graynor, Curtis Holbrook, Donnie Keshawarz, Jennifer K. Mrozik, Nathan Peck, Alexander Quiroga, Jody Reynard, Asa Somers, Denise Summerford, James Tabeek and Gregory Treco.
